DEFINITION:
            An autopsy done meticulously, properly and perfectly, but may present with no clear cut findings as to give a definite cause of death leading to perplexity  of forensic pathologists is defined as an obscure autopsy.

    CAUSE:
  1. Usually unexplainable.
  2. However, several possibilities which are speculated and thought of in a favorable direction to decide case are as follows:
    1. Natural causes such as,
      1. Obscure morbid anatomy
      2.  obscure histopathology
      3. Emotional causes
      4.  paroxysmal fibrillation etc..
    1. Biochemical disturbances:
    2. Concealed trauma such as concealed puncture wound
    3. Endocrine disturbance
    4. Poisoning due to :
      1. Anaesthetic over-dosage.
      2. Delayed narcotic poisoning
    1. Miscellaneous  such as putrefied body concealed trauma includes
      1. Cerebral concussion
      2. Self-induced neck injury
    1. Blunt injury to heart
    2. Reflex vagal inhibition

  3. Poisoning includes no macroscopic changes are;
    • Delayed to subtonic or narcotic poisoning
    • Anaesthetic  overdosage or maladministration
    • Neurotoxic or cytotoxic poisons
    • Plant poisoning
